GALLO
GALLO'S statement loudspeaker, the Reference 5.1, almost ready for prime time. An earlier prototype was at lasts years show. This one sounded beautiful.
The new Strada loudspeakers have the tweeter and mid/woofer assembly from the Reference3.1s for about $1,790 a pair (also shown is a Strada used a center channel for another $895). Unfortunantly they would only play home theater and no music in this room. They work well for that but I think they should also perform well on music since the 3.1s do.
Mark & Daniel introduces a line of speakers with the latest reworking of the Heil driver. This this they are able to get it down to 800hZ. They are power hungry at 85dB sensitivity but will easly fill a room. This pair, theMaximus-Monitor, with only a 6.5" woofer goes down to 40hZ.The cabinets on all models are made of Compound Marble and are, as one might expect, rock hard. $2,950/pair.
MANGER
The Manger Zeroboxes are back in the USA and they never sounded better driven by a Callistro CD transport into Metronome Technology electronics. The speakersare about $7/pair.
